Fairy Meadow is located five kilometres from Wollongong central business district.
Fairy Meadow Beach is only patrolled during the NSW school holidays,between September until the end of the April school holidays. North Wollongong Beach is the only beach in the area that is patrolled all year round.
Fairy Meadow is a Time Share Dog zone. Time sharing zone allows access on the beach on leash in summer before 9am and after 6pm and in winter before 9am and after 4pm.
The beach south of the play equipment is an off lead dog beach.
